Newark and Sherwood District Council is delighted to confirm its plans for a brand-new weekly kerbside food waste collection service.  Set to launch in October 2027, the District Council has, today, taken another step towards making this a reality in its bid to reduce waste, protect the environment, and contribute to a greener future.

The Careline service provides 24/7 assistance, 365 days a year, by simply pressing a button.

A rare and puzzling Roman object is now back on display at the National Civil War Centre in Newark. Known as the Norton Disney Dodecahedron, the 12-sided, hollow copper alloy object has fascinated archaeologists and visitors alike with its unknown purpose and striking craftsmanship.
