Community and Sports Awards 2025
The Newark and Sherwood Community and Sports Awards 2025, organised by Newark and Sherwood District Council in partnership with Radio Newark, will take place on Friday 26 September at The Renaissance at Kelham Hall in Newark at 6.30pm. The event honours incredible individuals who have gone above and beyond to support the community and champion the growth of sports.
This year, 14 worthy winners will be awarded for their exceptional contributions in various categories, which are as follows:

The event will also feature a Special Recognition Award presented to a community member who has demonstrated remarkable dedication to achieving positive change in the district. Last year, Tom Marsden, Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Lincoln College, received this accolade for his vital work in bringing the Air and Space Institute in Newark to life.
Nominations for the awards will be open between 30 May – 30 June 2025. You will be able to submit your nomination here.
Gold sponsors for the awards are Murphy Group, Active4Today, the Renaissance at Kelham Hall and Radio Newark. Without their support, the awards would not be able to take place.

- Nominations for the Newark and Sherwood Community Awards 2025 will open on Friday 30 May 2025 and will close on Monday 30 June.
- Nominations can be made through the Nominations send in via any other medium/format will not be accepted.
- Individuals, teams, groups, clubs, businesses etc. nominated for an award must all reside/operate from within the district of Newark and Sherwood in order to be eligible for consideration. Entries from outside of this area will not be accepted.
- If you are nominating an individual under the age of 18, we will require contact details for their parent or legal guardian.
- Following the closure of the nominating period, all entries will be collated and formatted. Any nominations after this date (Monday 30 June) will not be considered. Should we require further information from you on your nomination, we will contact you via the contact details you provided.
- Newark and Sherwood District Council reserves the right to disqualify any nomination that does not meet eligibility criteria.
- All eligible nominations will be presented to the Newark and Sherwood Community and Sports Awards 2025 Judging Panel for their consideration.
- The Judging Panel will decide upon a winner for each category and at their discretion, a maximum of two runner-up nominations per category. Please note that nominations will be anonymised ahead of judging.
- The decision of the Judging Panel is final.
- Should your nomination be successful in winning a category, you agree to take part in any promotional interviews, photography and filming that may be required for the awards event to take place.
- We will produce a short video of each nominee’s story to play at the awards ceremony. By nominating an individual, you will be required to be filmed for this video, answering a few questions about the nominee.
- The winner of each award category and one guest will receive a complementary ticket to the awards event, which will take place on Friday 26 September at Renaissance at Kelham Hall.
- Unless the winner notifies us otherwise in writing within a week of being informed that they have won, Newark and Sherwood District Council reserve the right to use and feature the names of the artwork winner for publicity purposes and the winner agrees that they will participate in any reasonable publicity.
